To assess the possible interactions between the dorsolateral periaqueductal gray matter (dlPAG) and the different domains of the nucleus ambiguus (nA), we have examined the pattern of double-staining c-Fos/FoxP2 protein immunoreactivity (c-Fos-ir/FoxP2-ir) and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) throughout the rostrocaudal extent of nA in spontaneously breathing anaesthetised male Sprague-Dawley rats during dlPAG electrical stimulation. Research institutes and universities have strengthened the development of biomedicine outreach activities, constituing a non-formal education system of science literacy, although with little commitment from undergraduate students. However, as a Service-Learning methodology, these outreach activities could work as a tool for the acquisition of skills by students of Health Science Degrees. Described here is the development of the workshop entitled "Exploring the human body" at the Biodonostia Health Research Institute and the pilot experience of its implementation as a Service-Learning activity at the University of Málaga.

Learning and memory mainly rely on correct synaptic function in the hippocampus and other brain regions. In Parkinson's disease, subtle cognitive deficits may even precede motor signs early in the disease. Background: We investigated whether donor-recipient mismatch involving one or more cytomegalovirus (CMV) immunodominant (ID) human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-I alleles may impact on the degree of CMV pp65/immediate-early 1 (IE-1) T-cell reconstitution and the incidence of CMV DNAemia in patients undergoing unmanipulated haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation with high-dose posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PT/Cy-haplo).

Methods: Multicenter observational study including 106 consecutive adult PT/Cy-haplo patients (34 CMV ID HLA-I matched and 72 mismatched). A real-time PCR was used for plasma CMV DNA load monitoring.
