Phase I study of expanded natural killer cells in combination with cetuximab for recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells express high levels of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Cetuximab is an anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody that promotes natural killer (NK) cell-mediated antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) via engagement of CD16. We studied safety and efficacy of combining cetuximab with autologous expanded NK cells in patients with recurrent and/or metastatic NPC who had failed at least two prior lines of chemotherapy.

Sclerosing Polycystic Adenoma of Salivary Glands: A Novel Neoplasm Characterized by PI3K-AKT Pathway Alterations-New Insights Into a Challenging Entity.

Sclerosing polycystic adenoma (SPA) is a rare salivary gland neoplasm originally thought to represent a non-neoplastic lesion. Recently we have encountered an index case of apocrine intraductal carcinoma of parotid gland of 62-year-old man with invasive salivary duct carcinoma component arising from SPA, a combination of tumor entities that has never been published so far. Here, we further explore the nature of SPA by evaluating 36 cases that were identified from the authors' consultation files.

Multinodular goiter: A study of malignancy risk in nondominant nodules.

The long-standing belief that multinodular goiters are associated with a lower risk of developing into carcinoma has been challenged by the results of some recent studies. In addition, we have noticed in our practice that a sizable proportion of cancers have been arising from nondominant nodules. We performed a retrospective study of 223 cases to determine (1) the incidence of carcinoma in multinodular goiters that required surgical management in our local, predominantly Asian population and (2) the incidence of carcinoma arising from nondominant nodules.

Team Reasoning and Collective Intentionality.

Different versions of the idea that individualism about agency is the root of standard game theoretical puzzles have been defended by Regan 1980, Bacharach ( 53: 117-147, 1999), Hurley ( 26: 264-265, 2003), Sugden ( 6(3):165-181, 2003), and Tuomela 2013, among others. While collectivistic game theorists like Michael Bacharach provide formal frameworks designed to avert some of the standard dilemmas, philosophers of collective action like Raimo Tuomela aim at substantive accounts of collective action that may explain how agents overcoming such social dilemmas would be motivated. This paper focuses on the conditions on collective action and intention that need to be fulfilled for Bacharach's "team reasoning" to occur.
