Introduction: Meta-analytic reviews suggest similar outcomes across trauma-focused psychotherapies for adults with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, this conclusion may be premature due to suboptimal statistical-review methodologies. Network meta-analysis (NMA) allows a detailed rank-ordering of the efficacy of established psychotherapy interventions derived from indirect evidence as well as results from direct head-to-head comparisons.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFEctodermal dysplasias are a rare group of heritable disorders involving the ectodermal derivatives with only a few published reports involving its anaesthetic management. We present the case of a 16-year-old boy with ectodermal dysplasia presented for elective oral surgery under general anaesthesia with a surgeon preference for nasotracheal intubation to provide adequate surgical exposure. The patient had successful nasal flexible bronchoscopic intubation despite challenging tracheal intubation conditions.

Donation after circulatory death (DCD) is an increasingly utilized practice that can contribute to reducing the difference between the supply of organs and the demand for organs for transplantation. As the number of transplanted organs from DCD donors continues to increase, there is an essential need to address the ethical aspects of DCD in institutional DCD protocols and clinical practice. Ethical issues of respecting the end-of-life wishes of a potential donor, respecting a recipient's wishes, and addressing potential conflicts of interest are important considerations in developing policies and procedures for DCD programs.
