Federated and reusable processing of Earth observation data.

The unprecedented and continuously growing volume of Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial data has necessitated a paradigm change where compute is collocated with the data archives in public clouds. However, as no single cloud platform can host all of this data, federated processing solutions that work across multiple cloud platforms are becoming increasingly relevant. A community-based approach to federated processing has started using openEO, a common Application Programming Interface (API) and set of well-defined processes that simplifies reuse and provides a valuable level of abstraction when handling large EO data volumes.

Students' perspective on the Dutch National Pharmacotherapy Assessment, a national survey study among final-year medical students.

The impact of summative, formative or programmatic assessment on the Dutch National Pharmacotherapy assessment: A retrospective multicentre study.

Background: The Dutch National Pharmacotherapy Assessment (DNPA), which focuses on assessing medication safety and essential drug knowledge, was introduced to improve clinical pharmacology and therapeutics education in the Netherlands. This study investigated how the performance of final-year medical students on the DPNA was affected by the assessment programme (traditional with summative or formative assessment, and programmatic assessment).

Methods: This multicentre retrospective longitudinal observation study (2019-2023) involved final-year medical students from four medical schools in the Netherlands.

Validation of an Augmented Reality Based Functional Method to Determine and Render the Hip Rotation Centre During Total Hip Arthroplasty.

Background: We present a method to determine and visualise the functional centre of rotation (FCOR) of the hip during total hip arthroplasty using an augmented reality head mounted display (AR-HMD).

Methods: We developed software allowing a HoloLens to provide inside-out infrared tracking of markers affixed to cadaver femurs and 3D printed acetabuli. Two observers rotated 20 cadaver femurs twice in a matching cup, producing 80 measurements.

Development and external evaluation of a self-learning auto-segmentation model for Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases Assessment (COALA).

Objectives: Total tumor volume (TTV) is associated with overall and recurrence-free survival in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM). However, the labor-intensive nature of such manual assessments has hampered the clinical adoption of TTV as an imaging biomarker. This study aimed to develop and externally evaluate a CRLM auto-segmentation model on CT scans, to facilitate the clinical adoption of TTV.
