INTRODUCTION: While psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Crohn’s Disease (CD) all share a common central pathogenesis pathway and a wide overlap of treatment regime, discrepancies still exist and are highlighted by the variability in the effectiveness of certain immunomodulating agents. Etanercept, for example, has been shown to be ineffective in CD due to its inability to induce T-cell apoptosis in the intestinal mucosa. CASE: We describe the case of a 37-year-old man with a 20-year history of psoriatic arthritis.

This paper presents a general analysis over the transconductance function in silicon nanowire transistors (SNWTs). The transconductance function in SNWTs has been well-discussed and the relation between this function and the physical and peripheral parameters of the SNWT has been precisely investigated. The transconductance expression has been derived as a function of device parameters (e.

A competent lower esophageal sphincter (LES) prevents gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in the setting of increased abdominal pressure. Therefore, we have assessed whether a back support belt causes gastroesophageal reflux (GER). Ten healthy volunteers underwent esophageal manometric studies to locate the LES.

A number of investigators have reported the feasibility of detecting H pylori in gastric mucus with polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based methods. We have established the sensitivity of a simple PCR assay for detecting H pylori in gastric mucus samples and estimate that the density of H pylori organisms in the gastric mucus of untreated patients is approximately 107 to 108 organisms per milliliter.
