Background: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD), in the absence of objective cognitive impairment, may be the first symptomatic manifestation of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Previous studies have suggested that its combination with amyloid-positivity (Aβ+) may represent stage 2 AD, and is associated with a higher risk of future cognitive decline. Here, we aim to (1) confirm this using the plasma Aβ42/40 ratio, and (2) test whether the addition of plasma phospho-tau181 (ptau, a marker of Aβ and tau pathology) could help refine the prediction of future cognitive decline in SCD patients.

Background: Cognitively unimpaired (CU) older adults with abnormal levels of β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition are considered in the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and, when combined with the subjective cognitive decline (SCD), are proposed as the stage 2 AD in the NIA-AA framework. Here, we aim to investigate whether neuropathologic deterioration increases in early stages, particularly in stage 2 AD.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), as a minimally invasive surgery strategy based on local thermal-killing effect, is widely used in the clinical treatment of multiple solid tumors. Nevertheless, RFA cannot achieve the complete elimination of tumor lesions with larger burden or proximity to blood vessels. Pyrene aggregates, as classic luminescent materials, are of great interest from a scientific viewpoint owing to the development of optoelectronic materials. In this study, we designed a compound 1,4,5-triphenyl-2-(pyren-1-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole (IM-PY) which was achieved with two crystalline polymorphs (IMPY-G and IMPY-B). They exhibit the green emission and the blue emission, respectively, both with pyrene serving as the luminescent core.
