Objective: This scoping review will aim to determine the methodological rigor and quality of out-of-hospital clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) by collating and describing all literature that assessed these documents using a structured appraisal instrument.

Introduction: In the out-of-hospital setting, the provision of emergency health care by paramedics and first responders is guided, directed, or informed by localized, overarching CPGs. Numerous CPGs in this setting have been assessed for their methodological rigor and overall quality using an appraisal instrument.

Galeazzi-equivalent fracture is a very rare type of fracture. Unlike the "classic" adult form of Galeazzi fracture, where the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) is dislocated and the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is often damaged, the DRUJ and TFCC may remain intact in children. In this article, we report the case of an 11-year-old boy with a Galeazzi-equivalent fracture.

Introduction: Diazoxide is the first-line treatment for children with hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia (HI). In these cases, diazoxide raises blood glucose levels by suppressing insulin release, preventing hypoglycemia, and potentially devastating end-organ sequelae. Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) is an exceedingly rare side effect of diazoxide.

Large prospective clinical trials are underway or planned that examine the clinical utility and cost effectiveness of genome-based newborn screening (gNBS). One gNBS platform, BeginNGS, currently screens 53,575 variants for 412 severe childhood genetic diseases with 1,603 efficacious therapies. Retrospective evaluation of BeginNGS in 618,290 subjects suggests adequate sensitivity and positive predictive value (PPV) to proceed to prospective studies.

Purpose: This study aimed to stratify patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) based on their response to neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy (nCRT) using DNA damage response (DDR)-related proteins measured in peripheral blood monocytes (PBMCs). We optimized and validated an innovative assay to quantify these proteins, providing a predictive framework for nCRT response.

Experimental Design: We used PBMCs collected from LARC patients either before or after standard course of ∼5.
