Prediction of Acute Cardiac Rejection Based on Gene Expression Profiles.

Acute cardiac rejection remains a significant challenge in the post-transplant period, necessitating meticulous monitoring and timely intervention to prevent graft failure. Thus, the goal of the present study was to identify novel biomarkers involved in acute cardiac rejection, paving the way for personalized diagnostic, preventive, and treatment strategies. A total of 809 differentially expressed genes were identified in the GSE150059 dataset.

The Role of Microtubules in Pancreatic Cancer: Therapeutic Progress.

Pancreatic cancer has an extremely low prognosis, which is attributable to its high aggressiveness, invasiveness, late diagnosis, and lack of effective therapies. Among all the drugs joining the fight against this type of cancer, microtubule-targeting agents are considered to be the most promising. They inhibit cancer cells although through different mechanisms such as blocking cell division, apoptosis induction, etc.

Multidisciplinary Treatment of Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Current strategy for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) based on Barcelona-Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) criteria dictates that patients with advanced-stage HCC are to only receive treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors. However, they prolong overall survival just by slightly more than 6 months. In this article, we present a patient with HCC diagnosed at an advanced stage who received multidisciplinary treatment consisting of transarterial chemoembolization, hepatic resection, pulmonary resection, radiofrequency ablation, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, and radiotherapy, and has survived for more than 2 years since diagnosis and counting.
