Background: The primary health care services in India suffer from inconsistent availability of providers, lack of quality, poor availability of medicines and diagnostics, and a poorly functioning referral linkage. A multi-pronged approach is required to address these issues.

Methods: We describe here a model of electronic sub-health centers (e-SHCs) managed by trained nurses supported by a general practitioner over telemedicine.

Importance: Religiosity and guilt are commonly featured in obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD). The role of religiosity and guilt in OCD has been frequently studied in the literature and suggested that greater religiosity/spirituality, paranormal beliefs, and magical ideation have often been associated with enhanced obsessive-compulsive behavior. India being a multi-religious country, it is particularly notable that a research was required to assess the role of religiosity and guilt in symptomatology and outcome in OCD, a condition in which religious themes are often present.

A new method for measuring waveguide propagation loss in silicon nanowires is presented. This method, based on the interplay between traveling ring modes and standing wave modes due to back-scattering from edge roughness, is accurate and can be used for on wafer measurement of test structures. Examples of loss measurements and fitting are reported.
