Long-term results of first row carpectomy with proximal capitate resurfacing using a pyrocarbon implant.

The functional results of proximal row carpectomy with a proximal capitate resurfacing using a pyrocarbon implant were evaluated in a retrospective, multicentric, multi-operator study. The outcomes of patients operated on at five surgical centres between January 2005 and December 2018 were reviewed. The data were collected by an independent observer during standardized consultations.

Post-traumatic forearm bone defect reconstruction using the induced membrane technique.

Introduction: The induced membrane technique, first described by Masquelet, is now well standardized, but little studied in post-traumatic forearm bone defect. The main aim of the present study was to analyze consolidation rates in this indication. The study hypothesis was that the induced membrane technique provides good consolidation results.

Transverse translunate fracture-dislocation: A rare injury.

Perilunate fracture-dislocation is rare. We report the case of a 24-year-old male who fell from his motorcycle and presented with a transverse lunate fracture with perilunate ligament damage. The initial diagnosis based on X-rays was confirmed by CT scan.

Arthroscopic resection of benign tumors of the knee posterior compartment: a report of 15 cases.

Introduction: The management of tumors located in the posterior compartment of the knee, whatever the nature of the tumor, remains surgical excision and can be done by open surgery or under arthroscopic control. The objective of this study was to evaluate the arthroscopic management of intra-articular tumors of the posterior compartment of the knee. The hypothesis is that tumors or tumor-like lesions confined to the posterior compartment are accessible by arthroscopy with low iatrogenic risk.

Reconstruction of femoral bone loss with a monoplane external fixator and bone transport.

Background: Treatment of femoral bone loss is difficult. Ilizarov described the bone lengthening technique using a circular external fixator, but this technique is uncomfortable on the femur because of the circular fixator. We have therefore opted for use of a monoplane external fixator to treat femoral bone loss with bone lengthening.
