This article presents a bi-objective mixed-integer linear model for the waste management system design. Two types of facilities, landfills and transfer stations (TSs), are identified based on two objectives: minimising the total system's costs and the total negative impact of located facilities on end users as waste generators through a defined pollution decay function. Landfills and TSs are categorised as undesirable facilities due to associated environmental risks.

Express lanes (ELs) implementation is a proven strategy to deal with freeway traffic congestion. Dynamic toll pricing schemes effectively achieve reliable travel time on ELs. The primary inputs for the typical dynamic pricing algorithms are vehicular volumes and speeds derived from the data collected by sensors installed along the ELs.

This study explores the joint effect of visibility and warning devices on driver injury severity at the highway-rail grade crossings (HRGCs), while also considering other contributing factors. For this purpose, four mixed logit models are developed to estimate the determinants of driver injury severity considering the combinations of visibility conditions (daylight vs. no daylight) and type of warning devices (active vs.

Aims: Lopinavir (LPV) is not a first-line regimen. According to recent WHO data, LPV usage in low- and middle-income countries accounted for approximately 52% of the adult and 23% of the paediatric protease inhibitor market in 2017. Since LPV is a substrate for the SLCO1B1 (OATP1B1) transporter, the aim of this study was to assess the impact of SLCO1B1 polymorphisms (rs11045819, rs4149032 and rs4149056) on LPV trough plasma concentrations (C ) in Serbian patients.

Clinical exome sequencing is currently being used in diagnostics of various genetic disorders, but studies supporting its application in clinical setting are scarce. The aim of this study was to establish diagnostic and clinical utility of clinical exome sequencing in patients with moderate and severe global developmental delay/intellectual disability. Clinical diagnosis was made in 49 of 88 investigated patients, with overall diagnostic yield of 55.
