Apical periodontitis as an aggravating factor for the severity of rheumatoid arthritis: An animal study.

Aim: The present study investigated the influence of apical periodontitis (AP) on the severity of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using a Wistar rat model.

Methodology: Forty male Wistar rats were distributed across four groups (n = 10) based on the induction of RA and AP: Control, RA, AP, and RA + AP. RA was induced through two immunisations with type II collagen emulsified in incomplete Freund's adjuvant, followed by one immunisation with complete Freund's adjuvant.

A Cross-Sectional Study on the Prevalence and Risk Stratification of Chronic Kidney Disease in Cardiological Patients in São Paulo, Brazil.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) provides a worse prognosis for patients with heart disease. In Latin America, studies that analyzed the prevalence and risk stratification of CKD in this population are scarce. We aimed to evaluate CKD prevalence and risk categories in patients of a public referral cardiology hospital in São Paulo, Brazil.

Illness in nursing workers: a literature review.

Nursing work is highly relevant to society but is associated with significant suffering as well as physical and emotional demands that often result in illness. In light of these observations, we sought to explore the profile of illness in nursing professionals in Brazil and identify its relationship to working conditions. This was achieved through an integrative literature review of studies in the Virtual Health Library published between 2010 and 2018, retrieved with the keywords "worker," "nursing" and "illness.

Species of Cerambycinae (Insecta, Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) from east Paraná State (Brazil), with new geographic records.

A list of species of Cerambycinae (Cerambycidae) collected in Iguaçu National Park (PNI) during the period from March 2012 to December 2018 is provided. A total of 135 species were sampled using different collection methods, all recorded for the first time in the PNI and including 21 new distribution records for the state of Paraná, and two new records for Brazil. The geographic distribution and material examined are stated for each species.
