Background: species are the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease and, as ubiquitous waterborne bacteria, are prone to antimicrobial resistance gene (ARG) acquisition and dissemination due to the antimicrobial contamination of natural environments. Given the potential health risks associated with ARGs, it is crucial to assess their presence in the population.

Methods: The ARGs and were detected in 348 samples, isolates, and DNA extracts using conventional PCR.

Article Synopsis
  • Mechanical thrombectomy is a common treatment for ischemic strokes, but sedation during the procedure can cause agitation in patients.
  • This study, part of the AMETIS research, evaluated patients who experienced agitation and found that 38% had at least one episode during the procedure.
  • Although agitation didn’t significantly affect thrombolysis scores or overall outcomes, it did correlate with a higher need for intubation and poorer radiological image quality.

High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

The neuropathic characteristics of pain occurring after an osteoporosis (OP)-related fracture are often under-recognized. The aim of this pilot study is to identify, in patients suffering from pain localized on the site of a previous osteoporotic fracture, the presence of neuropathic characteristics, their medical management, and their impact on quality of life. This pilot cross-sectional study on consecutive patients in University Hospital, Rheumatology Department, Clermont-Ferrand, France, was approved by the Ethics Committee (IRB number 2023-CF34).
