[Mechanisms of the stimulating effect of brain antibodies on the Ca2 current in the neuron membrane].

Antibodies against rat brain microsomes induce a 16 +/- 3% increase in the amplitude of Ca-current (ICa) in snail neurons. Ca-ions block ICa in dose-dependent and potential-dependent manner. Antibodies against microsomes decrease the effectiveness of ICa blockade by Ca-ions: a 85 +/- 10% increase in ICa is observed and I-V curve is normalized.

[Arthus reaction and delayed hypersensitivity reaction to nerve-specific proteins S-100 and 10-40-4 in schizophrenic patients].

Using cutaneous allergic tests, the authors studied the body sensitization of schizophrenic patients to neurospecific proteins S-100 and 10-40-4. The group under study included 27 subjects: 15 schizophrenics and 12 healthy subjects. There were statistically significant differences in manifestations of Arthus' reaction and delayed type hypersensitivity reaction to these proteins in the patients versus the normal subjects.
