Background: Patients with high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) are commonly diagnosed at late disease stages and after primary tumors have disseminated in the peritoneum. The overexpression of tight junction proteins has been associated with poor prognosis in this setting, potentially reflecting the tumor´s adaptive changes in the disease cascade.
Methods: By performing immunohistochemistry in a large single-center cohort of a total of 705 HGSC, we test the hypothesis that the protein expression of PReferentially expressed Antigen of MElanoma (PRAME) contains prognostic, predictive or clinically translatable information.
Introduction: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can have debilitating effects on quality of life, and conventional treatments show mixed results. Neuromodulation is emerging as a promising approach for treating PTSD. This review examines current neuromodulatory treatments for PTSD, and highlights methodologies, clinical outcomes, and gaps in the literature to help guide future research.

They often undergo a pretreatment diagnostic iodine scan that typically shows areas of physiological uptake in the stomach, bladder, parotid glands as well as thyroid-remnant uptake and sites of metastatic disease. A 48-year-old woman with intermediate-risk papillary thyroid cancer with metastases to lateral compartment lymph nodes was found to have increased retention of iodine in the medial portion of her left orbit on the diagnostic scan.

The gut microbiome crucially shapes the immune system; however, its relationship with the baseline immune states of healthy humans remains incompletely understood. Therefore, we performed multi-omic profiling of 110 healthy participants through the ImmunoMicrobiome study.

Introduction Cerebellar deep brain stimulation (DBS) is gaining traction as a potential treatment for movement disorders and stroke and there is renewed interest in the cerebellum as a target for neuromodulation. Despite the safety and accuracy of frame-based approaches to the posterior fossa, unconventional stereotactic frame placement may be necessary to allow for low posterior fossa trajectories. Current literature lacks a comprehensive protocol detailing inverted frame placement and targeting.
