Dimension-engineered synthesis of atomically thin II-VI nanoplatelets (NPLs) remains an open challenge. While CdSe NPLs have been made with confinement ranging from 2 to 11 monolayers (ML), CdTe NPLs have been significantly more challenging to synthesize and separate. Here we provide detailed mechanistic insight into the layer-by-layer growth kinetics of the CdTe NPLs.

Since 2017, Missouri's SAMHSA-funded State Targeted and State Opioid Response (STR/SOR) grants have supported MedFirst services (both medical and psychosocial) for uninsured individuals with opioid use disorder at state-contracted treatment programs. Though MedFirst demonstrated early success, results - with attention to possible racial disparities - must be revisited after five years of implementation.

Background: Disparities in emergency department (ED) utilization after gastrostomy (G-) tube placement were previously demonstrated at our children's hospital. We aimed to reduce postoperative G-tube dislodgements and ED visits with a particular focus on socially vulnerable children.
Methods: Our improvement team implemented a G-tube care bundle (6/2018-9/2019) targeting caregiver preparedness and standardizing care in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative periods.
Objective: To provide an overview of Joe Biederman's contributions to child and adolescent psychiatry.
Method: Nine colleagues described his contributions to: psychopharmacology, comorbidity and genetics, pediatric bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette's and tic disorders, clinical and neuro biomarkers for pediatric mood disorders, executive functioning, and adult ADHD.
Results: Joe Biederman left us with many concrete indicators of his contributions to child and adolescent psychiatry.
