SGLT2i as a First-line Antihyperglycemic in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes in the Context of Indians: A Systematic Review and Consensus.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have been used for almost a decade and have proven to be effective not only in managing Type 2 diabetes (T2D), but their cardio and renal protective features make them very useful in managing patients with risk of multiple comorbidities. This systematic review was undertaken by the authors because there is no evidence currently available in India that has studied the suitability of SGLT2i as a first-line agent in patients newly diagnosed with T2D in India.

Materials And Methods: First, literature was searched to identify features that are considered important when deciding on a first-line agent for managing T2D.

Malignant adnexal tumours are a very rare and highly aggressive primary skin neoplasms. Among them, malignant hidradenocarcinoma is a particularly aggressive tumour that arises from the intradermal duct of eccrine sweat glands. It more commonly arises and rarely from a pre-existing hidradenoma.

Biomass-derived carbon boosted catalytic properties of tungsten-based nanohybrids for accelerating the triiodide reduction in dye-sensitized solar cells.

Manganese tungstate (MnWO), zinc tungstate (ZnWO), and copper tungstate (CuWO) embedded biomass-derived carbon (MWO-C, ZWO-C, CWO-C) was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment and investigated as counter electrode (CE) catalysts to test electrochemical activity. Biomass-derived carbon was used as the shape controlling agent, which changed the morphology of MWO from spherical to spindle-like. Owing to the synergistic effect between tungsten-based bimetal oxides and biomass-derived carbon, the MWO-C, ZWO-C, and CWO-C catalysts exhibited enhanced electrochemical performance in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) system.

Profile and Outcome of Pediatric Brain Tumors - Experience from a Tertiary Care Pediatric Oncology Unit in South India.

Context: Tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) constitute the second most common pediatric cancers. Unlike leukemia, management of CNS tumors requires a good multidisciplinary team. Higher rates of treatment abandonment are documented in view of complexity of the treatment with long duration, involving neurosurgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and high cost of treatment.
