The spin-exotic hybrid meson π_{1}(1600) is predicted to have a large decay rate to the ωππ final state. Using 76.6  pb^{-1} of data collected with the GlueX detector, we measure the cross sections for the reactions γp→ωπ^{+}π^{-}p, γp→ωπ^{0}π^{0}p, and γp→ωπ^{-}π^{0}Δ^{++} in the range E_{γ}=8-10  GeV.

Structural and functional comparisons of salivary α-glucosidases from the mosquito vectors Aedes aegypti, Anopheles gambiae, and Culex quinquefasciatus.

Mosquito vectors of medical importance both blood and sugar feed, and their saliva contains bioactive molecules that aid in both processes. Although it has been shown that the salivary glands of several mosquito species exhibit α-glucosidase activities, the specific enzymes responsible for sugar digestion remain understudied. We therefore expressed and purified three recombinant salivary α-glucosidases from the mosquito vectors Aedes aegypti, Anopheles gambiae, and Culex quinquefasciatus and compared their functions and structures.

Prognosis of Cardiac Arrest-Peri-arrest and Post-arrest Considerations.

There has been only a small improvement in survival and neurologic outcomes in patients with cardiac arrest in recent decades. Type of arrest, length of total arrest time, and location of arrest alter the trajectory of survival and neurologic outcome. In the post-arrest phase, clinical markers such as blood markers, pupillary light response, corneal reflex, myoclonic jerking, somatosensory evoked potential, and electroencephalography testing can be used to help guide neurological prognostication.
