Mental Health in Women.

Mental health illness has been increasing worldwide. The prevalence of mental illness and is higher among females than among males. It is estimated that one in 5 women experience a common mental health disorder.

Shock.

Shock is a life-threatening condition of circulatory failure that causes an imbalance between cellular oxygen supply and demand resulting in organ dysfunction. It is important to recognize promptly as it is reversible in earlier stages but will transition to an irreversible phase if left untreated. This will result in multiorgan failure and subsequent death.

A histopathological study of ovarian neoplasms in children in a tertiary hospital of northern Nigeria.

Background: Information concerning the frequency and pattern of ovarian tumours in children is scant, more so in northern Nigeria. In view of this, we reviewed ovarian biopsies obtained from children in Zaria over a 25-year period.

Materials And Methods: Ovarian tumours occurring in 48 patients of age 15 years and below were reviewed and classified using the current World Health Organization (WHO) histological classification of ovarian tumours.

The prevalence and impact of respiratory symptoms in asthmatics and nonasthmatics during deployment.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the prevalence, severity, and impact of respiratory symptoms in asthmatics and nonasthmatics during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Methods: A survey was given to 1,250 active duty soldiers and Department of Defense contractors returning from Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. Subjects were asked about demographics, smoking habits, respiratory symptoms, and impact on job performance before and during deployment.
