Background: The Welfare Reform Act (2012) has been criticised for harming claimants, particularly through functional assessments. Although many people with intellectual disabilities in the UK receive welfare benefits, their experiences of undergoing functional assessments are under-researched.
Method: Eight participants with intellectual disabilities were interviewed about experiences of welfare assessment.
Objective: To assess if patients with enlarged vestibular aqueduct (EVA) experience symptoms characteristic of other third mobile window disorders such as superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS).
Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
Setting: Tertiary care center.
Background: Opioids are still being prescribed to manage acute postsurgical pain. Unnecessary opioid prescriptions can lead to addiction and death, as unused tablets are easily diverted.
Methods: To determine whether combination nonopioid analgesics are at least as good as opioid analgesics, a multisite, double-blind, randomized, stratified, noninferiority comparative effectiveness trial was conducted, which examined patient-centered outcomes after impacted mandibular third-molar extraction surgery.
Sport-related concussions are a common type of brain injury, and the best treatment is prevention. Recently, external jugular vein compression collars have been worn by National Football League players, but the current evidence is limited. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first comprehensive, up-to-date systematic review addressing the use of jugular vein compression collars for decreasing concussion incidence in high-impact sports and activities.

Here, we show that mice exposed to methamphetamine in drinking water develop infradian locomotor rhythms with periods of 48 hours and beyond which extend to sleep length and manic state-associated behaviors in support of a model for cycling in BD. The cycling capacity is abrogated upon genetic disruption of dopamine (DA) production in DA neurons of the ventral tegmental area (VTA) or ablation of nucleus accumbens projecting DA neurons.
