Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates CP symmetry violation in the decay of D^{+} particles into K^{-}K^{+}π^{+} using data from proton-proton collisions at a high energy of 13 TeV.
  • A unique model-independent method was employed to analyze the phase-space distributions of D^{+} and D^{-} particles, correcting for any instrumental biases using D_{s}^{+} decays.
  • The findings indicate no significant evidence of CP violation, with a p value of 8.1%, and measure specific CP asymmetry observables, marking this study as the most sensitive search of its kind in multibody decays.

The Cryogenic Underground Observatory for Rare Events (CUORE) is a detector array comprised by 988 5  cm×5  cm×5  cm TeO_{2} crystals held below 20 mK, primarily searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay in ^{130}Te. Unprecedented in size among cryogenic calorimetric experiments, CUORE provides a promising setting for the study of exotic throughgoing particles. Using the first tonne year of CUORE's exposure, we perform a search for hypothesized fractionally charged particles (FCPs), which are well-motivated by various standard model extensions and would have suppressed interactions with matter.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of an iterative metal artifact reduction (iMAR) algorithm combined with virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) for artifact reduction in photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCDCT) during interventions.

Materials And Methods: Using an abdominal phantom, we conducted evaluations on the efficacy of iMAR and VMIs for mitigating image artifacts during interventions on a PCDCT. Four different puncture devices were employed under 2 scan modes (QuantumSn at 100 kV, Quantumplus at 140 kV) to simulate various clinical scenarios.

Background/aim: Treatment with retinoic acid (RA) often promotes neuroblastoma differentiation and growth inhibition, including the suppression of the expression of the MYCN oncogene. However, RA also targets protumoral chemokines, such as CCL2, which may contribute to the development of resistance. The present study aimed to investigate the regulation and function of CCL2 and N-Myc in RA-treated neuroblastoma cells.

Objectives: C-Reactive Protein (CRP) values are partly determined by variation at the CRP gene locus, but also influenced by socioeconomic position (SEP) and related lifestyle factors. As gene-by-SEP interactions have been suggested for traits associated with CRP and SEP (e.g.
