Background: Functional limitation is relatively common and can negatively influence the postoperative outcome of patients after cardiac surgery.
Objective: To identify the predictive factors of functional limitation in patients undergoing elective cardiac surgery.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study was performed to evaluate patients undergoing elective cardiac surgery.
The self-assembled layer-by-layer technique has attracted a great deal of attention as a method for engineering bio-functional surfaces under mild chemical conditions. The production of multilayer films, starting from newly designed building blocks, may be laborious, considering the inherent limitations for anticipating how minimal changes in the macromolecular composition may impact both film deposition and performance. This paper presents an automated, high-throughput approach to depositing polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEMs) in multiwell plates, enabling the screening of nearly 100 film formulations in the same process.

Methods: The search was carried out in seven electronic databases and gray literature. Studies that evaluated the frequency of signs and symptoms related to TMD and orofacial pain were included.
Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a molecular phenotype due to a deficient DNA mismatch repair (dMMR). In colorectal cancer (CRC), dMMR/MSI is associated with several clinical and histopathological features, influences prognosis, and is a predictive factor of response to therapy. In daily practice, dMMR/MSI profiles are identified by immunohistochemistry and/or multiplex PCR.

The rhino-cerebral form of mucormycosis is most commonly seen in patients with diabetes mellitus, whereas, pulmonary mucormycosis is a rare manifestation in patients with haematological malignancy and transplant recipients. We report a case of pulmonary mucormycosis presenting with a late acute onset diabetes on a patient immunosuppressed with a low dose of steroids.
