This study addresses how salience shapes the perceptual organization of an auditory scene. A psychophysical task that was introduced previously by Susini, Jiaouan, Brunet, Houix, and Ponsot [(2020). Sci.

However, irrelevant stimuli sometimes manage to capture it and stand out from a scene because of bottom-up processes driven by salient stimuli. This attentional capture effect was observed using an implicit approach based on the additional singleton paradigm.

Protein-protein complexes power the majority of cellular processes. Interfering with the formation of such complexes using well-designed mimics is a difficult, yet actively pursued, research endeavor. Due to the limited availability of results on the conformational preferences of oligosaccharides compared to polypeptides, the former have been much less explored than the latter as protein mimics, despite interesting ADMET characteristics.

But what specific skills do universities impart on students to prepare them for desirable careers? In this study, we analyze a large novel corpora of over one million syllabi from over eight hundred bachelors' granting US educational institutions to connect material taught in higher education to the detailed work activities in the US economy as reported by the US Department of Labor. First, we show how differences in taught skills both within and between college majors correspond to earnings differences of recent graduates.

Through a synergistic approach, coupling experimental results and molecular dynamics simulations, the influence of the surface chemical state of the nanosilica Stöber-type on the dissociation of LiTFSI and its impact on the lithium conduction properties are studied. For this purpose, the surface modification of silica nanoparticles was performed by different methods such as calcination, lithiation and capping with organosilane.
