N-terminal-acetyltransferases including NAA10 catalyze N-terminal acetylation (Nt-acetylation), an evolutionarily conserved co-translational modification. Little is known about the role of Nt-acetylation in cardiac homeostasis. To gain insights, we studied a novel NAA10 variant (p.

Background: The genus Sphingobium within the class Alpha-proteobacteria contains a small number of plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), although it is mostly comprised of organisms that play an important role in biodegradation and bioremediation in sediments and sandy soils. A Sphingobium sp. isolate was obtained from the rhizosphere of the beachgrass Ammophila breviligulata with a variety of plant growth-promoting properties and designated as Sphingobium sp.

This case study examines the methods used to troubleshoot a cochlear implant processor via video visit with a nonagenarian (90+ years old) with a bimodal cochlear implant system. This article will discuss the evaluation and management as well as which specific issues could be addressed virtually and how they were resolved. Examples will be provided about how to virtually connect with the patient and how to best facilitate communication during a video visit.

A new Au(I)-catalyzed method for the preparation of trisubstituted indolizines from easily accessible 2-propargyloxy-pyridines is reported. The reaction tolerates a wide range of functionality, allowing for diversity to be introduced in four distinct regions of the product (R, R, R, and Ar). The proposed mechanism proceeds via enol addition to an allenamide intermediate and explains the observed increase in yields when electron poor methyl ketones are utilized.
