Large waterborne outbreak: use of multiple approaches to investigate contamination of the drinking water supply system, Norway, June 2019.

On 6 June 2019, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health was notified of more than 50 cases of gastroenteritis in Askøy. A reservoir in a water supply system was suspected as the source of the outbreak because of the acute onset and geographical distribution of cases. We investigated the outbreak to confirm the source, extent of the outbreak and effect of control measures.

Background: Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is an autosomal dominant metabolic myopathy. The in vitro contracture test (IVCT) is still considered to be the gold standard for diagnosing a disposition for MH. However, advances in genetic testing for MH disposition have supplemented or even replaced the invasive procedure of the IVCT.

A comprehensive evaluation of the accuracy of cervical pre-cancer detection methods in a high-risk area in East Congo.

The mechanism underlying this phenomenon is unknown, but a deranged extracellular matrix (ECM) might be a contributing factor. Hence, we examined ECM components and regulators in a rat postinfarction model of CHF.
