Metal/semiconductor superlattices represent a fascinating frontier in materials science and nanotechnology, where alternating layers of metals and semiconductors are precisely engineered at the atomic and nano-scales. Traditionally, epitaxial metal/semiconductor superlattice growth requires constituent materials from the same family, exhibiting identical structural symmetry and low lattice mismatch. Here, beyond this conventional constraint, a novel class of epitaxial lattice-matched metal/semiconductor superlattices is introduced that utilizes refractory hexagonal elemental transition metals and wide-bandgap III-nitride semiconductors.

Arsenic (As) poisoning in aquifers is a serious problem worldwide, especially in the middle-Gangetic Plain (MGP) of India. Microbially-mediated As speciation in such aquifers is governed by the arsenate-reductase enzyme, ArsC, encoded by the arsC gene of As-metabolizing bacteria. In this study, ArsC1 (119 aa) and ArsC2 (141 aa) of a highly resistant strain to arsenic, Citrobacter youngae IITK SM2 (CyIITKSM2), isolated from a mixed-oxic MGP groundwater were biochemically characterized.

The current study introduced Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to enhance landslide susceptibility. It determines the relative distance of each alternative from the ideal best and ideal worst value. The ArcGIS environment was used to prepare eleven landslide conditioning factors, while raster values were extracted for the decision matrix preparation.
