Racial differences and geographic variations in oral anticoagulation treatment among Medicare patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

Introduction: Use of oral anticoagulants (OACs) for stroke reduction in atrial fibrillation (AF) varies by race and geography within the United States. We seek to better understand the relationship between OAC underutilization, race, and US geography.

Methods: Patients with AF were selected from the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services claims database from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2016.

Patient satisfaction study for the new Rigicon Infla10 inflatable penile prosthesis including single surgeon safety and outcomes data.

Background: Rigicon is a newer inflatable penile prostheses (IPP) manufacturer that has produced the Infla10 IPP for countries outside the United States (US) since 2019, with Food and Drug Administration studies for approval of Infla10 in the US presently underway.

Aim: This study aims to report the first patient satisfaction, efficacy, and safety from revision data for the newly available Rigicon Infla10 IPP.

Methods: A single surgeon's first 58 patients who underwent Rigicon Infla10 IPP implantation between 2019 and 2023 were included.

Aims: More than 90% of patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB) and reduced left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction have LV dyssynchrony and a high probability of response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). A subgroup of patients with non-specific intraventricular conduction delay (IVCD) have a LBBB-like LV activation pattern when studied using invasive mapping and advanced echocardiographic techniques. These patients also frequently benefit from CRT but these patients have proven difficult to identify using ECG criteria.

A review of the safety and efficacy of inflatable penile prosthesis ectopic reservoir placement.

Introduction: Patient medical and surgical history factors, such as prior prostatectomy, may lead surgeons to opt for ectopic reservoir placement rather than the standard reservoir location in the retropubic space (RPS) during inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) placement.

Objective: To examine the safety and effectiveness of ectopic reservoir placement used with three-piece IPPs in relation to reservoir placement in the RPS.

Methods: A systematic review of MEDLINE/Pubmed and Embase databases was performed for literature between 1970 and 2022.
