Background: Biological sex influences Alzheimer's disease (AD) development, particularly concerning brain insulin resistance (bIR) and early energy metabolism defects. Biliverdin reductase-A (BVR-A) plays a crucial role in insulin signaling, and its downregulation leads to bIR. However, the sex-related differences in AD neuropathology and underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a severe neurodegenerative condition that affects millions of people worldwide. The TgF344 AD rat model, which exhibits early depression-like behavior followed by later cognitive impairment, is widely used to evaluate putative biomarkers and potential treatments for AD. The P7C3 neuroprotective compounds have shown protective efficacy for both brain pathology and neuropsychiatric impairment in this model.

Background: TBI is the 3rd greatest risk factor for developing AD, behind genetics and aging. TBI is associated with a 3-4 year earlier onset of cognitive impairment, and increased cortical thinning and amyloid plaques in people with AD. The underlying mechanisms of this relationship are not understood, and as a result there are no treatments that protect patients from accelerated AD after TBI.

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has advanced our understanding of cell types and their heterogeneity within the human liver, but the spatial organization at single-cell resolution has not yet been described. Here we apply multiplexed error robust fluorescent in situ hybridization (MERFISH) to map the zonal distribution of hepatocytes, spatially resolve subsets of macrophage and mesenchymal populations, and investigate the relationship between hepatocyte ploidy and gene expression within the healthy human liver. Integrating spatial information from MERFISH with the more complete transcriptome produced by single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq), also reveals zonally enriched receptor-ligand interactions.

Background: To assess the validity of time trade-off (TTO) and standard gamble (SG) techniques of utility valuation among patients with periodontal problems by assessing their relation to two logical constructs; Gingival Index (GI) and Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) Questionnaire.

Materials And Methods: Two hundred and one patients aged 18 years old and above, who visited a tertiary care hospital for treatment/consultation were included. A questionnaire was administered to record the TTO, SG, and OHIP.
