Study Design: A fused deposition modeling three-dimensional (3D)-printed model of the L4-5 vertebra for lumbar discectomy was designed. The model included separately printed dura mater, spinal cord, ligamentum flavum, intervertebral disc (from thermoplastic polyurethane), and bony structures (from polylactic acid), and the material cost approximately US$ 1 per model. A simple plumbing endoscope was used for visualization.

This study aims to answer the question: Which are superior-conventional or short femoral stems?. An Optymis stem was used as a short-femoral stem, and an Accolade II stem was used as a conventional-femoral stem. There were 95 patients in the short femoral stem group (Group 1) and 90 in the conventional stem group (Group 2).

Backround: Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a very important complication that occurs after total joint replacement. Diagnosing PJI is at least as difficult as this disease. There is no biomarker that alone can diagnose PJI.
