Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a prevalent hepatic condition linked to metabolic alterations. It gradually causes liver damage and potentially progresses to cirrhosis. Article Synopsis
  • - The study examined how various factors like sex, vaccine type, body fat percentage, and stress affect immune responses (measured by Ig-G anti-RBD) to COVID-19 in 108 young participants, mostly females with an average age of 21.4.
  • - Results showed that body fat percentage impacts immune response differently in males and females: increased body fat decreased Ig-G levels in males, while it increased levels in females, regardless of the vaccine used.
  • - These findings suggest the importance of considering sex and body composition in understanding vaccine efficacy and could guide educational and health policies to reduce health disparities related to COVID-19.

Implantoplasty is a technique increasingly used to remove the biofilm that causes peri-implantitis on dental implants. This technique of mechanization of the titanium surface makes it possible to eliminate bacterial colonies, but it can generate variations in the properties of the implant. These variations, especially those in fatigue resistance and electrochemical corrosion behavior, have not been studied much.
