Here, we integrated hierarchical Bayesian modelling with magnetoencephalography (MEG) to characterise maladaptive belief updating in this condition. On the example of a patient with a mixed affective episode within the framework of bipolar affective disorder, the clinical features of this psychopathological condition, the difficulties of diagnosis and selection of therapy in mixed states are presented. The use of the modern atypical antipsychotic ziprasidone in this category of patients is argued.
