[The quality of life of patients with various forms of periodontitis].

The inflammatory diseases of periodont are a serious medical social problem. The OHIP-14, the questionnaire concerning the quality of life is one of the most applied in stomatology. In stomatology, the most frequently applied questionnaire concerning life quality is OHIP-14.

[Comparative characteristics of oral microbiocenosis in patients with chronic generalized and aggressive periodontitis before and after treatment].

The modern level of knowledge on the etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal disease identifies microbial factor as the dominant cause of the development of aggressive and typical forms of periodontitis. The study involved 125 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis and aggressive forms of periodontitis divided in 2 groups. The treatment tactics was chosen selectively depending on the amount of periodontopathogenic microorganisms revealed by real-time PCR.

[Concentration of proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines in blood and wound of patients with odontogenic phlegmons].

Levels of IL-1beta, IL-6, TNFalpha, IL-10 and TGF-beta in blood and wound of 56 patients with odontogenic phlegmons in dynamic of infection process were expected. In accordance with known facts production of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1beta, IL-6, TNFalpha in blood in acute phase of the inflammation process was much more intensive than in normal conditions. Increased proinflammatory cytokines generation led to significant raising of IL-10 concentration, but elevation of its level in blood was only at the 10-14 the days of therapy.
