The renin-angiotensin system is crucial in heart failure (HF) development, with an alternative pathway producing Angs that mitigate Ang II's negative impacts.
Researchers aimed to analyze the effects of Ang levels on outcomes for patients with HF who have preserved ejection fraction by examining clinical data and serum samples.
Results showed that higher levels of Ang 1-7 and Ang 1-5 are linked to poorer outcomes, with Ang 1-5 and a composite marker being strong independent predictors of adverse events in these patients.
