Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) from oxaliplatin and taxane drugs is a bothersome toxicity. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) has been reported to improve myelinated nerve fiber function in patients experiencing painful CIPN. We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized trial of PEA in patients with established CIPN.

Methods: We performed a single institution retrospective review of patients with recurrent ovarian cancer who were treated with gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel from 2012 to 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Florida.
Results: Twenty patients were identified and the median PFS for patients treated with gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel was 9 months (95% CI, 5.
Advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer, with a poor prognosis and no known cure. Survival time is often short because of limited treatment options. Recent advances in targeted therapy and immunotherapy have changed the landscape for the treatment of advanced NSCLC.

All current reported data on monoclonal antibodies is from clinical trials, without any real-world experience. Patients from Mayo Clinic Florida or Arizona diagnosed with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who were treated with Daratumumab or Elotuzumab alone or in combination between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016 were included in the analysis.

Introduction: Outcomes in multiple myeloma (MM) have improved significantly over time. This is true overall for all patients as well as patient subgroups based on age and race/ethnicity. Despite this, disparities are noted in outcomes when looking at racial subgroups.

Risk factors for irAEs remain controversial. Therefore, we studied sex differences in irAEs in patients treated with anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) therapy.

How mobilization regimen affects collection efficiency and the quality of products collected using the Spectra Optia apheresis instrument is not fully known.
Methods: We evaluated the impact of granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (GCSF) and GCSF/plerixafor mobilization regimens on CE and product composition.
Concurrent presentation of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with other hematologic diseases in the absence of previous chemotherapy or ionizing radiotherapy treatment is very rare. We present a case of simultaneous occurrence of APL with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)-related acute myeloid leukemia (AML). A 43-yearold female presented with 3 month of history fatigue, night sweats, chills and pancytopenia.

Systemic chemotherapy is the primary treatment for the majority of patients with this disease; however, surgical resection may benefit a subset of patients with early-stage disease. The surgical approach that offers the best outcomes remains an area of controversy, with data from retrospective comparisons being the only guide.

We examined the impact of a quality improvement project focused on reducing oncology readmissions among patients with cancer who were admitted to palliative and general medical oncology services at the Cleveland Clinic.
Methods: Baseline rates of readmissions were gathered during the period from January 2013 to April 2014.
Purpose: Routine prophylactic pegylated granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (pGCSF) administration for patients receiving chemotherapy regimens associated with low risk (< 10%) for neutropenic fever (LRNF) is not recommended. Inappropriate use of pGCSF increases patient morbidity and health care costs.
Methods: A multidisciplinary team reviewed the charts of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at the Taussig Cancer Institute in whom a new chemotherapy regimen was initiated from April through November 2013.
