The development and expansion of road networks pose considerable threats to natural habitats and wildlife, fostering a landscape of fear. In addition to direct mortality caused by road collisions, road construction and maintenance often result in habitat fragmentation and loss, impeding animal movement and gene flow between populations. Mountain ungulates are already confined to fragmented habitat patches and roads can cause substantial disturbances to their critical ecological processes, such as dispersal and migration.

Anti-P1 is immunoglobulin M type and occurs naturally; it is often detected as a weak- and cold-reactive antibody. However, in rare cases, it is reactive at 37°C or shows hemolytic transfusion reactions. The presence of high thermal amplitude of anti-P1 cannot be ignored and requires cross-match compatible red blood cells for transfusion.

The intensity of human-carnivore conflict in socio-ecological systems may primarily be determined by people's attitudes and perceptions of carnivore-related threats. Direct or indirect threats posed by large carnivores to human interests may eventually lead to negative attitudes that can trigger retaliatory bahaviour against them. The electronic and structural properties of Au/ZnO under industrial and idealized methanol synthesis conditions have been investigated. This was achieved by kinetic measurements in combination with time-resolved operando infrared (DRIFTS) as well as in situ near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (NAP-XPS) and X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy (XANES) measurements at the O K-edge together with high-resolution electron microscopy. The adsorption of CO during the reaction revealed the presence of negatively charged Au nanoparticles/Au sites during the initial phase of the reaction.

Agarose-nickel (Ag-Ni) composite matrix was evaluated for its use in expanded bed adsorption (EBA). Bovine serum albumin (BSA) and lysozyme were used as model proteins in batch and column adsorption studies. Accordingly, Reactive Green 19 (RG19) dye-ligand was covalently immobilized onto the support matrix to prepare affinity adsorbent for protein adsorption.
