Cardiac solution for a vascular scenario!

Background: Ascending aortic pseudoaneurysms (AAPs) constitute a rare, albeit potentially dangerous, condition that occurs in up to 13% of patients after cardiac or aortic surgeries. For patients with a history of cardiac surgery, repeat thoracotomy poses additive risks. The high morbidity and mortality rates associated with the surgical management of AAPs have led to the development of transcatheter approaches.

Left ventricular intra-myocardial dissection after myocardial infarction.

Left ventricular (LV) intra-myocardial dissection or dissecting hematoma is a rare complication of myocardial infarction that could occur in the acute phase, during remodeling process and even after coronary revascularization. LV intra-myocardial dissection has a high mortality, and the best management strategy remains controversial. Here, we present a case of dissection of left ventricle late after anterior myocardial infarction diagnosed by multimodality imaging.

A rare case of congenital heart disease with bifid cardiac apex: a unique finding in left ventricle.

Bifid cardiac apex is a rare anomaly of human hearts. We report of the case of a 34-year-old man with a previous history of ventricular septal defect (VSD) and subvalvular pulmonary stenosis. He had undergone pulmonary commissurotomy and VSD closure 22 years before he was referred to our center for evaluation of progressive dyspnea.
