Background: Calcifications along ventricular catheters have been associated with shunt fractures although it is unknown whether their development predicts whether and when the shunts will fracture.
Objective: To determine whether extracranial calcifications found on a radiographic shunt series predicts whether a patient will experience a shunt catheter fracture or complication.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective review was performed of pediatric patients with a ventricular shunt placed before 18 years of age and radiographic shunt series.
Macrodystrophia lipomatosa is a rare, non-hereditary congenital anomaly characterized by localised gigantism in the form of macrodactyly affecting a part of limb and rarely entire limb due to overgrowth of all mesenchymal elements. Radiological and pathological hallmark is the disproportionate fibroadipose tissue proliferation in subcutaneous tissue, nerve sheaths, and periosteum that lead to soft tissue and bony enlargement. We present the case of a twenty years old female who presented with history of gradual enlargement of the medial aspect of right hand along ulnar nerve distribution since birth.

We report a case of a 60-year-old woman who presented with hearing loss and pulsatile tinnitus. High index of suspicion and appropriate use of imaging led to early diagnosis.

Radiological imaging especially ultrasound, if performed by an expert radiologist plays an important role in differentiating this benign condition from other causes of neck masses in this age group, thereby preventing unnecessary investigations in a neonate and decreasing parent`s anxiety. We hereby, present a case report of a sternomastoid tumor in a two week old neonate diagnosed using high frequency ultrasound, signifying that every physician should be aware of this clinical entity in a neonate and refer them immediately for ultrasound.

Aims: This study was designed to compare recommended convergence angle and taper values of tooth preparation with clinically practiced values and to assess the factors such as tooth position, operator experience, vitality, and restorative status on convergence angle of prepared teeth.
Around one fourth of patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and given antiretroviral therapy (ART) experience inflammatory or cellular proliferative disease associated with a preexisting opportunistic infection. Many such infections are subclinical or quiescent before the patient begins ART. Cryptococcal immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome may present as a clinical deterioration or new presentation of cryptococcal disease following initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and is believed to be caused by recovery of Cryptococcus-specific immune responses.

A 46 year-old male patient presented to us with complaints of shortness of breath during the previous month. A contrast enhanced computed tomography (CECT) imaging scan of his thorax showed right-sided pleural effusion with the absence of any mass lesion or mediastinal lymphadenopathy.

Objective: To compare clinically practiced convergence angle values of tooth preparation with recommended values, and also the effect of tooth position and operator experience on convergence angle.
Study Design: Analytical study.
Place And Duration Of Study: The study was carried out at the Dental clinic, The Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, from January to June 2007.
Immediate loading of splinted implant restorations is a growing trend, but limited clinical documentation hampers evidence-based treatment planning for single-tooth applications. This study prospectively evaluated the clinical efficacy of placing implant-supported, single-tooth restorations into immediate, full-occlusal loading. Sixty consecutive patients (intent-to-treat group) with 1 missing tooth between 2 intact teeth were treated with a total of 69 implants.

In the literature, bone-grafting techniques have shown variable results. Additionally, bone grafting requires a longer treatment time and a need for a second surgery, and it adds significant cost to the treatment.

Until recently, commercially available dental implants have been limited to diameters ranging from 3.0 mm to 7.
