Complete genome sequence of the phage vB_Ec_Tarrare.

We report the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of the novel bacteriophage vB_Ec_Tarrare, which infects the K-12 strain. It was isolated from a bat guano sample collected in Rindge, NH, USA. Its genome is 40,953 base pairs long with 49 putative protein-coding genes and no transfer RNAs.

Complete Genome Sequence of Bacteriophage vB_Hercules_Set, Which Infects Enteric Pathogen Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium.

We report the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of bacteriophage vB_Hercules_Set, a kuttervirus infecting human pathogen Salmonella enterica. vB_Hercules_Set was isolated from a slurry of soil and deli meat collected in New Hampshire in 2021. The genome length is 157,338 nucleotides, containing 210 protein-coding genes and five tRNAs.

Mycobacterium of an unknown strain causing a primary tumoral process of the orbital roof.

PURPOSE. To report an unidentified species of atypical Mycobacterium as the causative agent of a primary orbital roof infection. METHOD.

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca associated with achalasia of the cardia, adrenocortical insufficiency, and lacrimal gland degeneration: Keratoconjunctivitis sicca secondary to lacrimal gland degeneration may parallel degenerative changes in esophageal and adrenocortical function.

Objective/design: This study aimed to examine and describe three siblings with alacrima, the eldest of whom had associated achalasia and adrenocortical insufficiency.

Participants: Three affected siblings and four age-matched control subjects participated. INTERVENTION/MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The three children underwent complete ophthalmologic examinations; computed tomographic scanning of brain, orbit, chest, and abdomen; and measurement of serum cortisol.

Unilateral enophthalmos secondary to acquired hemilipodystrophy.

Purpose: To report a case of acquired hemilipodystrophy with ipsilateral enophthalmos.

Methods: Case report. We examined a 25-year-old woman who developed progressive unilateral enophthalmos secondary to fat atrophy on the corresponding left side of her body.
