- The study aimed to investigate the appearance and characteristics of Bartholin cysts in asymptomatic women using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT).
- Out of 3,280 MDCT scans reviewed, 17 cases of asymptomatic Bartholin cysts were identified, with an average maximum size of 21.8 mm and a higher prevalence in women over 50 years old.
- The findings suggest that high-attenuation Bartholin cysts are more common than previously believed and generally display little change in size or appearance over time.
