Obstetric outcomes of transabdominal cerclage: A retrospective observational study in Japan.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the obstetric outcomes of transabdominal cerclage (TAC) in Japan.

Methods: Questionnaires on TAC were sent to 183 institutions performing high-quality perinatal management in Japan. As a first-step questionnaire, we asked whether TAC was performed between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2022.

AMH producing purely cystic virilizing adult granulosa cell tumor in 17 years old girl: a case report and review of literatures.

Background: Androgen-producing granulosa cell tumor in adolescent girl is rare condition and clinical characteristics are not fully elucidated.

Case Presentation: Seventeen years old girl complained of secondary amenorrhea was referred to our out-patient consultation. Markedly elevated serum testosterone, LH, and AMH levels were noted.

Internal Iliac Artery Aneurysm Ruptures with No Visualized Endoleak 2 Years after Endovascular Repair.

We report a case of an 83-year-old man with a ruptured internal iliac artery (IIA) aneurysm after endovascular repair, which was treated via the ligation of IIA and tight suture of the aneurysm sac. Although there were no findings of obvious endoleak after endovascular treatment, the IIA aneurysm increased in size and eventually ruptured. We presumed that pressure to IIA aneurysm via the embolized IIA led to rupture.

AMH Concentrations in Peritoneal Fluids of Women With and Without Endometriosis.

As its name indicates, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is primarily found as an inhibitor of the Müllerian duct in male fetus. On the other hand, AMH may act as a mediator of Müllerian duct-derived female tissue, such as endometrium in normal and pathological conditions. However, the role of AMH in the functional regulations of endometriosis is not well understood.

Ovarian reserve after three-step laparoscopic surgery for endometriomas utilizing dienogest: A pilot study.

Purpose: Surgery for endometriomas may cause detrimental effects on ovarian reserve. We evaluated the safety of three-step laparoscopic surgery for endometriomas utilizing dienogest in terms of post-surgical ovarian reserve.

Methods: Twelve women received first look laparoscopy (FLL) with fenestration and drainage.

Endometrioma is one of the main pathologies of endometriosis, though its pathogenesis still remains enigmatic. Ovarian reserve is defined as the number and quality of the follicles left in the ovary at any given time. The cause of infertility in women with endometriosis is multifactorial.

Copper-catalyzed enantioselective allylic alkylation of azoles with γ,γ-disubstituted primary allylic phosphates was achieved using a new chiral N-heterocyclic carbene ligand bearing a naphtholic hydroxy group. This reaction occurred with excellent branch regioselectivity and high enantioselectivity, thus forming a controlled all-carbon quaternary stereogenic center at the position α to the heteroaromatic ring.

Copper-catalyzed enantioselective allylic alkylation of terminal alkyne pronucleophiles.

The copper-catalyzed enantioselective allylic alkylation of terminal alkynes with primary allylic phosphates was developed by the use of a new chiral N-heterocyclic carbene ligand bearing a phenolic hydroxy group at the ortho position of one of the two N-aryl groups. This reaction occurred with excellent γ-branch regioselectivity and high enantioselectivity, forming a controlled stereogenic center at the allylic/propargylic position. Various terminal alkynes, including silyl, aliphatic, and aromatic alkynes, could be used directly without premetalation of the C(sp)-H bond.

[Increased body mass index in young adults is associated with metabolic syndrome].

Objectives: Specific Health Examinations and Guidance (Tokutei kenko shinsa/Tokutei hoken shido) are provided for people over 40 years of age to reduce the incidence of metabolic syndrome (MetS). In the present study, we evaluated the importance of weight control in people below 40 years of age.

Methods: Male subjects (n = 877), aged 30 years, without MetS, were examined.

It is well established that patients with immunosuppression have a higher risk of development of lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs), and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with development of LPDs. Aplastic anemia (AA) is an immune-mediated hematological disorder, and immunosuppression therapy (IST), such as antithymocyte globulin (ATG), is widely used for treatment of AA. However, occurrence of LPD without bone marrow transplantation has been extremely rarely documented in patients with IST for AA.

Primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma occurring in an atopic dermatitis patient: a case report with review of the literature with emphasis on their association.

Although the risk of malignant lymphoma in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) remains controversial, an increased risk of malignant T-cell lymphoma in patients with AD has been reported. Primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (C-ALCL) is a relatively common distinct clinicopathological entity. However, occurrence of C-ALCL in patients with AD has been rarely reported.

Concomitant occurrence of IgG4-related pleuritis and periaortitis: a case report with review of the literature.

IgG4-related sclerosing disease is an established disease entity with characteristic clinicopathological features. Some recent reports have demonstrated that this disease can occur in the respiratory system including the pleura. Herein, we describe the first documented case of concomitant occurrence of IgG4-related pleuritis and periaortitis.

Epstein-Barr virus-related post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder occurring after bone marrow transplantation for aplastic anemia in Down's syndrome.

It is well established that Down's syndrome exhibits a predisposition to development of leukemia, however, association between aplastic anemia and Down's syndrome is exceptional. Herein, we describe a case of aplastic anemia occurring in Down's syndrome following post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) after bone marrow transplantation (BMT). A 27-year-old Japanese male with Down's syndrome presented with a headache.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive large B-cell lymphoma: a case report with emphasis on the cytological features of the pleural effusion.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive large B-cell lymphoma (ALK-positive LBCL) is an extremely rare distinct clinicopathological subtype of LBCL, characterized by the presence of ALK-positive monomorphic large immunoblast-like neoplastic B cells. Herein, we describe the first cytological report on ALK-positive LBCL in the pleural effusion. A 69-year-old Japanese male with a past history of malignant lymphoma of the cecum presented with progressive dyspnea and pleural effusion.

Occurrence of anaplastic large cell lymphoma following IgG4-related autoimmune pancreatitis and cholecystitis and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Recently, the association between IgG4-related sclerosing disease and the risk of malignancies has been suggested. IgG4-related autoimmune pancreatitis with pancreatic cancer has been reported.

Methotrexate (MTX) is one of the common cause of iatrogenic-associated LPD, and approximately 40-50% of MTX-related LPD cases occur in extranodal sites.
