Visceral leishmaniasis as a rare cause of granulomatous hepatitis.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a potentially fatal infection caused by species of Leishmania. It is characterized by fever, weight loss, anemia, and enlargement of the spleen and liver. Hepatitis due to VL is one of the causes of granulomatous hepatitis rarely described in the literature.

Tuberculosis constitutes a major public health problem in the world. Certain extra-pulmonary locations of tuberculosis disease are very exceptional. Amongst these, tuberculosis of the breast is rare even in countries where this infection is endemic.

Ectopic mediastinal thyroid removed by U-VATS approach. A case report.

Introduction: Ectopic thyroid tissue is a rare entity, and accounts for approximately 1% of all mediastinal tumours. It is a differential diagnosis of the mediastinum tumors or metastatic deposits from an orthotopic gland, as well as other benign or malignant masses. Although most cases are asymptomatic and discovered incidently by imaging, symptoms related to tumor size and its compression of adjacent structures may also appear which necessites explorations and lead to diagnosis.
