This study focuses on improving the mechanical properties of sandwich composites by developing epoxy-based sandwich composite panels with hollow glass microspheres/nanoclay hybrid core and banana fiber facesheets for structural applications. The mechanical performance of sandwich composite panels made with hollow glass microspheres (HGM)/nanoclay hybrid core with banana fibers face-sheet composites panel is investigated in this work. The HGM content of the core was varied from 1 wt% to 3 wt% in the sandwich composites panel, while the nanoclay content of the core was varied from 1 wt% to 5 wt% in each of the HGM-filled series of the sandwich composite panel, these sandwich composite panels were fabricated using a conventional resin casting method.

Many adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) are associated with elevated cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. However, APO data in the context of pre-existing CVD risk factors, and from diverse populations, are limited. We assessed the occurrence of APOs among individuals with and without prepregnancy CVD risk factors, overall and by race/ethnicity.

Background: Postpartum hypertension can be persistent, following a pregnancy complicated by hypertension, or new onset (de novo), following a normotensive pregnancy. The aim of this study is to estimate the incidence and identify risk factors for de novo postpartum hypertension (dn-PPHTN) among a diverse safety-net hospital population.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 3925 deliveries from 2016 to 2018.

Objective: Coinfection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) with hepatitis D virus (HDV) has being reported to increase severity of progression to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver cirrhosis (LC). Beta microglobulin (2βM) which is present on the surfaces of blood cells in acceptable levels is a tumor marker which may become elevated in disease conditions. This study hence observed the prevalence of HBV and HDV coinfection in a rural population and their 2βM concentration.
