Background: This study aims to illustrate the impact of applying the tranexamic acid impregnated in a gelatin sponge between the anterior rectus sheath and the Rectus Abdominis muscle during Cesarean section (CS) in minimizing rectus sheath hematoma (RHS) in women treated with Warfarin.

Methods: A clinical trial was carried out on 63 pregnant women attended for elective CS, who on antenatal warfarin anticoagulation started from 13 weeks gestation to 36 weeks then shifted to low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) or unfractionated heparin (UFH), and with an indication for postnatal warfarin anticoagulation. They were randomly assigned on the day of the scheduled CS into three equal groups (21 women for each).

The mechanical performance of the Ilizarov system is closely related to the biologic status of the fracture or osteotomy line. The aim of this study was to compare the mechanical performance of 2 different Ilizarov frame configurations. Two different frame models were applied to cow tibiae, 1 with 2 rings only, 1 proximal and another distal, vs the conventional 4 rings, 2 proximal and 2 distal.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the necessity for surgical fixation of basal fractures of the ulnar styloid without distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) instability, after stabilization of associated distal radial fractures using an anterior plate. This single-centre, prospective, randomized controlled trial, conducted between 2015 to 2021, included 43 patients in each study arm who were randomized to either fixation (Group A) or non-operative treatment (Group B) of the ulnar styloid. The mean follow-up period was 24 months (SD 5.

Cadmium (Cd) is a hazardous environmental pollutant that menaces human and animal health and induces serious adverse effects in various organs, particularly the liver and kidneys. Thus, the current study was designed to look into the possible mechanisms behind the ameliorative activities of (TM) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ) combined therapy toward Cd-inflicted tissue injury. Male Wistar rats were categorized into seven groups: Control (received saline only); TM (50 mg/kg); CoQ (40 mg/kg); Cd (2 mg/kg); (Cd + TM); (Cd + CoQ); and (Cd + TM + CoQ).

Evaluating residual lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) levels in food products, especially milk, is critical for product safety and quality. In this purview, the current study aims to determine Pb and Cd concentrations in milk using atomic absorption spectrophotometry and compare their values with international standards. In addition, it aims to remove these metals from milk samples using low-cost, naturally occurring materials, such as bentonite, date pit, and chitosan nanoparticles.

The prevalence of internet gaming disorders (IGD) is considerably high among youth, especially with the social isolation imposed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. IGD adversely affects mental health, quality of life, and academic performance. The Internet Gaming Disorder Scale (IGDS9-SF) is designed to detect IGD according to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria.

Aflatoxin M (AFM) and ochratoxin A (OTA) are highly toxic mycotoxin metabolites that are found as food pollutants, posing health risks to humans and animals. The objective of the current study is to establish a sensitive, reliable method for determining AFM and OTA using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and attempting to assess the efficacy of bentonite, date pit, and chitosan nanoparticles for AFM and OTA detoxification from contaminated milk. As revealed, AFM was found in 65.

Background: Jordan has no relevant database or registry by which chronic kidney disease (CKD) would be early identified. The purpose of the present study is to uncover the prevalence of CKD in a national sample of Jordanian patients at high risk and examine the association of CKD with demographic and clinical factors.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional, correlational study that involved 540 outpatients at high risk for CKD.

Purpose: This study examined the extent to which health related aspect, health outcome, behaviour outcomes and social connectedness may predict adolescents' wellbeing at the schools of Jordan.

Methods: Using a two-stage cluster sampling technique 1166 adolescents completed the Health Behaviour of School Children survey.

Results: Stepwise Regression Analysis showed that the adolescents' wellbeing was predicted by academic achievements, bullying behaviour, eating habits, psycho-somatization, parent support and ease of communication with parents.

Drug-drug interactions (DDIs) can result in serious consequences, including death. Existing methods for identifying potential DDIs in post-marketing surveillance primarily rely on the FDA's (Food and Drug Administration) spontaneous reporting system. However, this system suffers from severe underreporting, which makes it difficult to timely collect enough valid cases for statistical analysis.

We report a case of Liebenberg syndrome in a 6-year-old girl, including the clinical, radiological, angiographic, and operative findings. We note that the forearm and hand malformations have similarities to leg and foot anatomy. Our observations may help provide insight into the etiology of this unusual condition.

Early detection of unknown adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in postmarketing surveillance saves lives and prevents harmful consequences. We propose a novel data mining approach to signaling potential ADRs from electronic health databases. More specifically, we introduce potential causal association rules (PCARs) to represent the potential causal relationship between a drug and ICD-9 (CDC.
