Hyperketonemia is a very common metabolic state in dairy cows, which result in lower milk production, impaired fertility, and increased frequency of other diseases. In this study, we aimed to determine the influence of season, parity, and milk yield of cows on beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) concentration in the second week of lactation (WK 2) and establish the relationship between BHB concentration in WK 2 and reproduction performance traits such as insemination rate and first insemination day of Lithuanian Black and White dairy cows. The study included clinically healthy Lithuanian Black and White cows ( = 692).

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, has spread all over the world in a short time and was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). During COVID-19 pandemic, chest computed tomography (CT) imaging has become an important tool with high sensitivity for diagnosis due to the low positive rate of the real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Furthermore, the chest CT has played an important role in the diagnosis of underlying pulmonary lesions.

In this study, we hypothesized that differences of automatic milking systems (AMS) variables in dairy cows during estrus and through diverse stages of lactation can be suggested as alternative indicators to support the pregnancy in dairy farms using automatic milking systems. The key objectives were: (1) to determine the variation of automatic milking system indicators during lactation and to estimate the relationship with reproduction status in dairy cows; (2) to test the hypothesis that milking traits of cows can be influenced by estrus and conceiving, and can be used as a predictor of the likelihood of reproductive success in dairy herds. Estrus synchronization was performed in 368 healthy Lithuanian Black and White cows.

Localized amyloidosis in the breast is a very rare disease and may mimic malignant lesions. A 60-year-old woman who had a history of breast-conserving surgery presents with a new a well-defined oval opacity accompanied by many round tight clustered micro- and macrocalcifications on mammograms. It could not be visualized sonographically due to the intense posterior acoustic shadowing of the fat necrosis areas and contrast enhancement was not detected in this area on the dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance images.

Purpose: To determine the contribution of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), and relative ADC (rADC) values to differentiate between benign and malignant breast masses.

Materials And Methods: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of patients with benign or malignant breast masses diagnosed either by histopathological findings or by follow-up imaging were evaluated retrospectively. Histopathological analyses were performed for 71 lesions (80.

Backroung: To investigate the diagnostic performance of the elastography-based strain index ratio in the differential diagnosis of malignant and benign breast lesions.

Material/methods: Seventy-nine breast masses that were classified as BI-RADS category 3, 4, and 5 on B-mode ultrasonography (US) were further prospectively evaluated by real-time sonoelastography (RTE). To obtain an optimal cut-off value of the strain ratio for differentiating between malignant and benign breast lesions, RTE findings were compared with histopathology of core needle biopsy samples or with ultrasound follow-up data of the analyzed masses.

Background And Objective: This study proposes an infrastructure with a reporting workflow optimization algorithm (RWOA) in order to interconnect facilities, reporting units and radiologists on a single access interface, to increase the efficiency of the reporting process by decreasing the medical report turnaround time and to increase the quality of medical reports by determining the optimum match between the inspection and radiologist in terms of subspecialty, workload and response time.

Methods: Workflow centric network architecture with an enhanced caching, querying and retrieving mechanism is implemented by seamlessly integrating Grid Agent and Grid Manager to conventional digital radiology systems. The inspection and radiologist attributes are modelled using a hierarchical ontology structure.

Introduction: the rates of multiresistant bacteria colonization or infection (MRB+) development in intensive care units are very high. The aim of this study was to determine the possible association between the risk of development of nosocomial infections and increased daily nurse workload due to understaffing in intensive care unit.

Methods: we included 168 patients.

Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) is a rare benign mesenchymal proliferative lesion of the breast. In this study, we aimed to show a case of PASH with mammographic and sonographic features, which fulfill the criteria for benign lesions and to define its recently discovered elastography findings. A 49-year-old premenopausal female presented with breast pain in our outpatient surgery clinic.

This paper proposes a framework designed to interconnect medical imaging facilities and teleradiology service providers on a single access interface. This framework aims to solve the interoperability issues of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) developed by different vendors and enrich the digital health record delivered to non-local radiologists or physicians with the integrated information from several systems. This is achieved by introducing a "Grid Agent" into the domain of medical software systems, which seamlessly integrates with present systems and forms a network to deliver data between other Grid Agents and the "Grid Manager".

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of recombinant LHRH fusion protein, Ovalbumin-LHRH-7 (OL), using a single-dose vaccination protocol in combination with different adjuvants in suppressing reproductive functions in buck kids. For this purpose, either a mixture of free OL antigen and encapsulated OL antigen, or encapsulated OL antigen was used. Thirty-nine native buck kids at 12 weeks of age were divided into control (n=7) and treatment groups (n=8 bucks/group).

Productive characteristics and body measurements of Norduz goats, a native genetic resource in Turkey, were measured. The animals studied were brought from natural habitats to the farm of the Animal Science Department of Agricultural Faculty, Yüzüncü Yıl University. Least squares means of withers height (WH), body length (BL), chest width at back of withers (CWBW), chest depth (CD), chest girth (CG) and leg girth (LG) of Norduz does were 65.

This study was carried out on nine 3-5-year-old rams of different species: four Norduz, two Karakas, and three Ile de France × Akkaraman rams. Sperm of each ram was collected by means of an artificial vagina once per month from June to October 2007. In each case, the sperm volume, pH, viscosity, mass activity, motility, concentration, abnormal spermatozoa ratio, and the sperm death/live ratio were recorder along with the animals' testis diameter and scrotum circumferences.
