Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the link between appetite-related peptides and frailty in older adults, specifically focusing on six key peptides.
  • Results indicated that frail patients had lower levels of ghrelin, NPY, and AgRP, while showing higher levels of CART and α-MSH, suggesting a potential hormonal imbalance in frailty.
  • The findings propose that specific appetite peptides could serve as independent predictors of frailty, highlighting the need for larger studies to further investigate these relationships.
