The objective of this study is to examine the correlation between the active range of motion (ROM) of the affected upper extremity and functional capacity in children with Obstetric Brachial Plexus Palsy (OBPP) who have undergone the modified Hoffer tendon transfer technique. The study cohort comprised 52 children with OBPP, aged 4-14 years, who had undergone a shoulder tendon transfer. The ROM was quantified using a goniometer, while functionality was evaluated through the administration of the Brachial Plexus Outcome Measure (BPOM).

Neurofibroma, a benign peripheral nerve sheath tumor, represents a rare cause of posterior interosseous nerve syndrome. Eight new azomethine compounds (3a-3h) containing thiophene and aminophenol functionality were synthesized in excellent yields by using conventional heating and microwave assisted synthesis methods. The structures of newly synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as UV-Vis, FTIR, H and C NMR and elemental analysis. UV-Vis and H NMR results show that all compounds prefer the phenol-imine tautomer form in solvent media.

Autosomal-dominant hypertension with brachydactyly is a salt-independent Mendelian syndrome caused by activating mutations in the gene encoding phosphodiesterase 3A. These mutations increase the protein kinase A-mediated phosphorylation of phosphodiesterase 3A resulting in enhanced cAMP-hydrolytic affinity and accelerated cell proliferation. The phosphorylated vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein is diminished, and parathyroid hormone-related peptide is dysregulated, potentially accounting for all phenotypic features.
