A rare association: Castleman's disease and pemphigus vulgaris.

Castleman disease is a reactive lymph node hyperplasia of unknown origin that often involving the thorax although it may involve all parts of the body. It is usually seen in young adults and presents an asymptomatic course. It is usually located to anterior and middle mediastinum.

[Evaluation of 105 cases with tuberculous pleurisy].

Tuberculous pleurisy has still importance in the group of exudative pleurisy. In this study we aimed to evaluate clinical, radiological, biochemical, bacteriological and histopathological findings of 105 cases with tuberculous pleurisy retrospectively, between January 1999 and December 2002. Female/male ratio was approximately 1/9 and mean age was 32.

Normal diaphragmatic motion and the effects of body composition: determination with M-mode sonography.

Objective: To evaluate the quantitative measurement of diaphragmatic motion in healthy subjects and to investigate the effects of different variables such as body mass index and waist circumference on the diaphragmatic motion.

Methods: The study included 164 healthy subjects. The subjects were grouped according to age, sex, body mass index, and waist circumference.
