Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect on wound healing of intralesional epidermal growth factor (iEGF) (Heberprot-p; Hasbiotech, Cuba) and autologous adipose-derived tissue stromal vascular fraction (AD-tSVF) applied in the closure of tissue defects.
Method: The patients included in the study were separated into three approximately equal groups: Group 1 with iEGF+AD-tSVF applied; Group 2 with iEGF only applied; and Group 3 with conventional wound care products applied. Granulation tissue was taken from the wound bed before the application of iEGF and AD-tSVF and at intervals thereafter for flow cytometry analysis.
Objectives: We aimed to investigate the common mechanisms in restless legs syndrome (RLS) and overactive bladder (OAB), the prevalence of OAB in RLS, and the effects of RLS treatment on OAB.
Methods: Sixty patients newly diagnosed with RLS and 60 healthy individuals in the control group were included in the study. The patients completed the RLS-Severity Rating Scale and were started on pramipexole for treatment.
Primary ventral hernia (PVH) is a main differential diagnosis of abdominal wall masses and typically occurs at areas of structural weakness, such as the linea alba. This report draws attention to atypical PVHs of the peri-inguinal region, an underdiagnosed subgroup of defects located adjacent to the inguinal canal and below the semilunar line. The absence of a standardized definition or classification complicates the diagnosis of this infrequent pathology.

This review aims to provide an overview of ELISA, its various types, and its applications in detecting metabolites in biological fluids. The article discusses the history of the assay, its underlying principles and procedures, common ELISA protocols, and the most accurate and reliable techniques for measuring peptide molecules in biological fluids.

Since there are no antimicrobials in the treatment protocols of CV, the diagnostic and therapeutic criteria of which were first defined by Cibley, differential diagnosis of CV from other vaginitis agents will prevent unnecessary use of antimicrobials and recurrent com-plaints. In our study, we aimed to determine the frequency of CV in patients presenting with vaginitis complaints and the diagnostic accuracy of the diagnostic criteria.

Background: Osteoporosis is characteristically defined as a decrease in bone density and mass, accompanied by the deterioration of bone structure, which increases bone fragility and the risk of fractures. Osteoporosis frequently develops with age. In high-risk populations, oxidative damage is a common pathological condition.

It is aimed to reveal oxidative stress and cellular immunity status. In this context, the aim is to discuss possible risk parameters regarding disease process and treatment effectiveness.

Methods: The effect of a-tomatine at different concentrations (0.75 / 1 / 1.
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was more devastating in people with comorbidities such as advanced age and immunodeficiency. Another group affected by COVID-19 was pregnant women. Immunological changes during pregnancy and conditions such as gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia that occur during pregnancy also have effects on the fetus.

Background: High-energy casualties such as firearm injuries may result in extensive loss of soft tissue and bone in the lower extremities. Although the primary aim in these types of injuries is the preservation of the extremity, repeated surgical procedures for extremity salvage and subsequent restoration of function could have detrimental effects on the patient both physically and psychologically. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the physical and psychological outcomes of patients who underwent lower extremity amputation in the early period after a firearm injury compared with the results of patients who underwent amputation in the late period.

Design: Prospective and observational study.
Method: In this study, 51 preterm infants born at 28-34 weeks of gestation in NICU were evaluated.
Bilateral testicular tumors account for 1 to 5% of all testicular tumors. Most bilateral tumors are observed metachronously. Synchronous tumors usually present with the similar histological pattern.

Methods: The surgical technique was determined via detailed cadaveric dissections of rat sciatic nerve roots and cross-sectional histoanatomy. Forty animals were divided into the sham, sensorial denervation (SD), motor denervation (MD), and combined denervation (CD) groups and evaluated clinically via the pinch test and observation.
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a prevalent public health problem. Uric acid (UA) is increased by MetS. We investigated whether administration of UA and 10% fructose (F) would accelerate MetS formation and we also determined the effects of irisin and exercise.

The prevalence of penile calcification in the population remains uncertain. This retrospective multicenter study aimed to determine the prevalence and characteristics of penile calcification in a large cohort of male patients undergoing non-contrast pelvic tomography. A total of 14 545 scans obtained from 19 participating centers between 2016 and 2022 were retrospectively analyzed within a 3-months period.

Acciden-tal triggering of these tools at the wrong time can result in major hand injuries that impair hand functionality and cause permanent hand disability. This study aims to draw attention to the fact that mole gun injuries cause severe loss of hand functionality and that these tools should be considered within the scope of firearms.

Colonized surfaces, equipment, individuals, and infected patients can be sources for the hospital spread of vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), which is one of the important nosocomial pathogens. The basic epidemiological tools for the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections are the typing methods. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) is a highly discriminating method used frequently to detect clonal associations in epidemics and hospital-acquired VRE infections.

With cumulative exposure to immunosuppression (IS), the risk for the development of de novo lung carcinoma increases. Due to limited therapy options and prognosis after diagnosis of lung cancer, the question of the mode and extent of IS in this particular situation is raised.

Bone transport distraction and free vascularized bone transfers are the salvage techniques for treating these deformities and accomplishing successful bone grafting. This report presents a case of bilateral cleft lip and palate with a large palatoalveolar fistula and a rudimentary premaxilla after prior failed attempts at bone grafting.
