Perceptions of death can greatly impact the ability to cope with grief, making it either easier or unbearable. Research on the importance of religion and spirituality in the field of oncology, particularly among parents who have lost a child to cancer, is still in its emerging stage. This study aimed to describe the religious coping strategies of Muslim mothers who lost their children to cancer.

This review examines the inconsistent effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and pollutants on pubertal timing, emphasizing the methodological challenges contributing to variability in findings. Data from nine key studies reveal that chemicals such as BPA, phthalates, and PFAS impact pubertal onset differently based on exposure timing, dosage, and sex. For instance, BPA is linked to earlier puberty in girls but delayed onset in boys, while other EDCs show mixed effects across populations.

The overlooked factor: Sleep quality in assessing malnutrition risk and nutritional status in adolescents with cystic fibrosis.

Aim: This study aimed to assess the relationship between sleep quality, malnutrition risk, and nutritional status in adolescents with cystic fibrosis(CF).

Material And Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 55 adolescents (aged 10-18 years) diagnosed with CF. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and malnutrition risk was evaluated based on disease-specific criteria.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective roles of rosmarinic acid (RA) and Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) alone and in combination against DOX-induced oxidative stress, cytotoxicity, and genotoxicity in healthy cells. In addition, this study evaluated the expression of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) protein in the Chinese hamster ovary cell line (CHO-K1).

Paravalvular positioning of a cardiac implantable electronic device electrode during tricuspid valve replacement.

Introduction: Patients who need tricuspid valve replacement (TVR) surgery often have permanent transvalvular pacemaker (PM) leads, which pose an important challenge in lead management.

Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of paravalvular positioning of a permanent pacemaker lead during TVR surgery.

Material And Methods: Between 2014 and 2024, a total of 15 patients who had previously had a transvenous pacemaker system underwent TVR.

Determination of streptococcus mutans retention in acidic and neutral pH artificial saliva environment of all-ceramic materials with different surface treatment.

Background: Although surface finishing processes are effective against Streptococcus mutans biofilm, the mechanism of action of saliva with different acidity values ​​has not been studied in detail. This study aims to produce four different all-ceramic materials in a single session with CAD/CAM devices and apply two different surface finishing processes, glazing and polishing, and then determine the retention of Streptococcus mutants on the surfaces of the materials in saliva with varying levels of acidity.

A systematic review was performed on CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science, Ovid MEDLINE, and Scopus from 2006 to June 2022. The Joanna Briggs Institute's evaluation tools for RCT and quasi-experimental studies were used to assess the methodological quality of the publications included in this review and to determine the extent to which each publication addressed the possibility of bias in its design.

Acute appendicitis is an abrupt inflammation of the appendix, which causes symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever. Computed tomography (CT) is a useful tool in accurate diagnosis of acute appendicitis; however, it causes challenges due to factors such as the anatomical structure of the colon and localization of the appendix in CT images. In this paper, a novel Convolutional Neural Network model, namely, LesionScanNet for the computer-aided detection of acute appendicitis has been proposed.

The objective of this study is to examine the correlation between the active range of motion (ROM) of the affected upper extremity and functional capacity in children with Obstetric Brachial Plexus Palsy (OBPP) who have undergone the modified Hoffer tendon transfer technique. The study cohort comprised 52 children with OBPP, aged 4-14 years, who had undergone a shoulder tendon transfer. The ROM was quantified using a goniometer, while functionality was evaluated through the administration of the Brachial Plexus Outcome Measure (BPOM).
