Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of the PAUL Glaucoma Implant (PGI) and the adjunctive impact of intraoperative Mitomycin C (MMC) on surgical outcomes in patients with neovascular glaucoma (NVG).
Methods: This retrospective, comparative study included NVG patients who underwent PGI implantation. The cohort was divided into two groups: Group 1 (PGI without MMC) and Group 2 (PGI with MMC).
Background: Cervical radiculopathy is caused by dysfunction of nerve roots in the cervical spine. While many studies have assessed the effectiveness of interlaminar epidural steroid injection (ILESI) and stabilisation exercises separately for this condition, our study aims to evaluate the impact of different stabilisation exercise programmes following ILESI on treatment outcomes in radiculopathy patients.
Methods: Sixty-two patients with cervical radiculopathy were randomised into three groups: cervical ILESI-only (CO), neck stabilisation group (NSG) and scapular stabilisation group (SSG).
Objective: Early-Onset Scoliosis Self-Report Questionnaire (EOSQ-SELF) is a recently developed self-reported questionnaire based on the widely adopted Early-Onset Scoliosis Questionnaire and evaluates health-related quality of life in children with early-onset scoliosis over 8 years of age. To date, the questionnaire does not have a validated version in Turkish. The aim of this study was to translate EOSQ-SELF into Turkish and evaluate its reliability and validity.

A total of 24 isolates were collected from six local yogurt samples including Afyon/Dinar, Uşak, Konya/Karapınar, and Tokat provinces of Türkiye. Strain-specific CRISPR I-II-III and IV primers were used to determine the CRISPR profiles of the isolates.

While ABPA is most commonly observed in CF patients (2-9%), it is seen at a rate of 1-2% in patients diagnosed with asthma. ABPA is mostly seen in steroid dependent adult asthma patients and has rarely been reported in pediatric asthma patients.

Mortality rate of the crush victims in the Marmara earthquake of August 1999 was compared with the conclusions arrived after making thermodynamic assessment of the data acquired in the previous earthquakes. Entropic age concept was found very helpful while assessing the data. Mortality rate in the age group of 0-9 years old crush victims was 0 because the basal metabolic rate (BMR) of these children was low.

Methods: This study is multi-centered descriptive cross-sectional research. Data were collected between June 2022 and November 2022 in seven cities, including five teaching and research hospitals and two public hospitals.
Background: This study was designed to assess if thiol-disulfide homeostasis could be used as diagnostic biomarker in noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) in a laboratory animal model.
Methods: The study was carried out with a total of 28 female albino rats in 4 groups: group 1 (control group) included rats that were not exposed to noise or any study treatment; in group 2, following noise exposure, rats received 2 mg of dexamethasone per kilogram of body weight via the intramuscular route for 5 days; in Group 3, rats were exposed to noise and received a saline solution for 5 days, in a volume (0.15 cc) matched to that of dexamethasone administered in group 2; and in group 4, rats were exposed to noise, and blood samples were collected during the early phase to assess thiol-disulfide homeostasis without administering any treatment.
Millijoule-scale pulses of multicycle terahertz radiation (MC-THz) are increasingly being pursued as drivers for applications requiring high-fields and high spectral brightness. An attractive approach for generating high peak-power MC-THz pulses is nonlinear optical down-conversion of laser pulses in periodically-poled crystals. A principal limitation to the yield, however, is the small (sub-centimeter) apertures of commercially-available crystals which restrict the amount of laser energy that can be used.

The functional, structural, and nutritional characteristics of the protein isolates of fenugreek seeds were investigated. The highest yield (98.

A case in point concerns the previously unresolved phylogeny of the three species of banded newt (genus Ommatotriton). We obtain c.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between thyroid functions and ICM exposure through ESI procedures.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia in patients with atrial septal defect (ASD). Cryoballoon ablation (CA) is a safe and efficient method for pulmonary vein (PV) isolation in the treatment of AF. Achieving left atrial access may be difficult in patients with atrial septal occluders (ASO) or surgical repair of ASD.

In cancer, exomiRs influence tumor progression by regulating key cellular processes such as proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Their role in mediating communication between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment highlights their significance as potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets.

Methods: Thirty-eight participants with DM and periodontitis were randomized into two different groups. The test group provided NSPT with DK whereas the control group received NSPT with placebo.
In this study, a simple, sensitive, and rapid method called green hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent-based liquid-liquid microextraction was developed to extract Brilliant Blue FCF dye from beverages. This method utilizes hydrophobic DES obtained by forming tetrabutylammonium bromide and 1-octanol in a 1:5 ratio as green extraction solvent. The transition of Brilliant Blue FCF to the DES phase occurred on its own, without the need for any reagents such as added salt or tetrahydrofuran.

Two endoperoxides were synthesized as facially selective and single products in high yields (93%-95%) from the reactions of isoxazole derivatives with singlet oxygen. The exact configurations of the endoperoxide with a methyl group in the phenyl ring and the diol synthesized from it were confirmed by X-ray analysis.

In this study, we revealed the microplastic exposure of two endemic newt species for Türkiye. We found that polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was the predominant microplastic polymer type in both species, with the blue fiber shape in particular.
